Simple Compass Rose 2
This is a simple compass rose to just indicate "north" on a map. The graphic corrects deficiencies in a similar image found on the Web by converting all text elements to paths, allowing system-independent display, and making the arrow a closed, filled path while surrounding it with a white background ("drop shadow") to improve visibility on both light and dark map images. To preserve the relative width of the drop shadows under the symbols when scaling this image, be sure to enable "Scale stroke width" in the Transform preferences in your SVG editor. The "N" symbol font is URW Chancery.
